Remembering the Victims of the École Polytechnique Shooting. On December 6th, 1989, 14 women at École Polytechnique in Montreal—many of whom were engineering students—were murdered by a lone gunman, with more than a dozen additional people wounded. To this day, the École Polytechnique massacre is one of the deadliest mass shootings in Canadian history. We remember the lives lost that day, and our thoughts are with those still affected by this senseless tragedy.
