Pario Engineering & Environmental Sciences is thrilled to introduce Sarah Murphy as the new Director of Engineering for Atlantic Canada.
Sarah was introduced into the field of forensic engineering by her uncle who helped develop and encourage her curiosity for this unique engineering profession. Immediately after completing her final engineering exam, she found herself on-site assisting with a structural failure, an experience she describes as both fortunate and enriching. This early hands-on experience from exceptional leaders and mentors set her up for a successful professional career.
Sarah's educational journey is both diverse and impressive. She completed her Bachelor of Commerce in 2009 before returning to school to complete a Bachelor of Environmental Engineering in 2015. Under the mentorship of top forensic engineers, scientists, and investigators, Sarah obtained her Professional Engineer designation in 2020.
What Sarah enjoys most about forensic engineering is the unpredictability and variety of the work. Each day presents new challenges, from fire investigations to accident reconstruction, ensuring that no two days are the same. This dynamic environment fuels her passion and commitment to the field.
Beyond her professional achievements, Sarah has a rich personal life filled with various interests and activities. At seven, she began curling-a sport she initially wanted to quit but was encouraged by her parents to continue doing. Good thing she stuck to it: her commitment and hard work paid off as she competed nationally at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts. She also played soccer up until her university years and recently returned to the sport as a striker.
As she steps into her role as Pario's Director of Engineering in Atlantic Canada, Sarah is excited about the opportunity to work with a fantastic team and contribute to the company's growth. She views this role as a natural extension of her leadership abilities, honed through years of being a team leader in curling and other activities.
Sarah was born and raised in Halifax and has always been drawn to the ocean. She loves the beauty and tranquility it offers. She enjoys spending time with her husband, their three young children, and their dog Charley.
Sarah's blend of professional expertise, personal passion, and leadership skills make her an invaluable addition to Pario's leadership team. As she embarks on this new journey, we look forward to the continued growth and success she will bring. This new role offers her a chance to revisit her business studies and apply them in a real-world context. Her story is a testament to the power of perseverance, passion, and the impact of strong mentorship. Welcome to the leadership team at Pario Engineering & Environmental Sciences.
