Pario’s Mark Samis Announces Retirement

Pario is saddened to announce the retirement of Mark Samis (Vice President, Environmental Sciences). After 42 years of dedicated service to the field and the past decade building and leading Pario’s Environmental Sciences Group, Mark will be retiring from his role on Friday May 30.

Mark is not just a leader, but the foundation of Pario’s environmental practice. With his deep scientific knowledge and calm, solution-oriented approach, Mark has become a trusted name in the industry, particularly for his expertise in spill response and remediation. This reputation was built on technical excellence, integrity, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to his clients and the environment.

During his time with Pario, Mark led by example, fostering a culture of empathy and dedication within his team. He mentored countless individuals, including the new VP of Environmental Sciences, Neil Wilcox, who has worked closely with Mark for over 20 years. Mark’s influence has helped shape the next generation of environmental professionals, and his legacy will continue to guide Pario well into the future.

While Mark will be stepping away from his day-to-day responsibilities, he will remain involved with Pario as a consultant, continuing to peer-review reports for key legal clients.

“We will deeply miss working with Mark,” says Martin Grech, Senior Vice President of National Operations. “He has been invaluable to our leadership team with his ability to approach challenges with a steady focus and to ease the toughest moments with a story from his long career. Simply put, Pario would not be what it is today without him.”
