Biography

Grant started his engineering career with MT&T (Bell Aliant) as a project engineer where he worked on several leading-edge design/build telecommunications projects, including the first residential fiber optic system in Nova Scotia. After leaving Bell Aliant in 1996, Grant became a part owner in a local home inspection company and a Branch Manager/Forensic Engineer for Walters Forensic Engineering.

In 1998 Grant formed Contrast Engineering Limited to offer his own inspection services and specialized project management services. From 1998 to 2000, Contrast Engineering successfully completed numerous residential and commercial design/build projects.

In 2001, Grant purchased the Nova Scotia operations of Walters Forensic Engineering and focused his attention on developing Contrast Engineering as a recognized leader in the forensic engineering and forensic sciences sector. In just 24 years, Grant successfully grew Contrast Engineering from a one employee operation into the largest Atlantic Canada based, full-service, multi-disciplined forensic engineering and forensic sciences firm with offices in Halifax NS, Moncton NB, Charlottetown PE, and St. John’s NL.
