Since 2007, Tim has worked as a professional forensic investigator, following earlier roles in provincial government and municipal fire services. Licensed as a private investigator in British Columbia, he meets Security Services Act requirements for investigating fires, incidents, and accidents. He has completed more than 1,700 fire and water loss investigations involving structures, vehicles, marine vessels, railway equipment, specialized equipment, and wildlands.

Tim’s practice includes simple to complex loss investigations, multi-party scene coordination, litigation support, technical report writing, risk management, evidence handling, and advanced documentation using LiDAR, drones, forensic photography, and related technologies. His career spans more than three decades in fire protection, emergency services, investigation, and training, with experience as a Firefighter, Training Officer, Fire Chief, Provincial Fire Protection Specialist, curriculum developer, and fire investigator.

He has held leadership roles with the British Columbia Chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators and is an experienced instructor and speaker. Tim maintains credentials through the IAAI, NFPA, CAFI, and NAFI, including certifications in fire investigation, evidence collection, motor vehicle fire investigation, instruction, fire protection, and fire and explosion investigation.
